Sorry I haven't posted in a couple days we are constantly on the move and this hostel has horrible wifi. We have been visiting cheese factories and wineries, eating at delicious restaurants and have been doing a lot of traveling. After the study tour is over we will have traveled 1400 km across France. Today we made our way to Germany and now I'm sitting on the floor in the hostel (which is awesome compared to the previous ones because we have a loft in our room and our own toilet)writing this post. So here it goes, the last couple of days...

Blackcurrant mustard and ketchup. Not a fan
"The
fruirouge farm was the first adventure we took outside of Dijon about
45 minutes away in a village called Concourse. We drove up to the
farmers home and he took us up to where his 13 hectares of blackcurrant
or "le casis" . Le Casis is produced from a blackcurrant fruit tree and
is a french delicacy used to make liqueur, jams, syrup, and butter. The
blackcurrant is the most popular and the owner of the farm let us try
samples of the 18% and 34% proof le Casis. His farm has been in his
family for 9 generations, but he is the first generation to sell the
liqueur and jams produced from his crops directly to the consumer. As he
says in France it is not about marketing to people, but making your
product the most high quality possible and then the consumers will
come. He said that he has never paid for publicity, and the only way
people have found out about his business is word of mouth. Le casis is
used to sweeten very dry white wine and
gives it just the right amount of sweetness for an appetizer drink."

Mustard tasting at Edmond Fallot- blackcurrant mustard, tarragon mustard, balsamic mustard and classic Dijon. All disgusting. I can eat yellow mustard with a spoon but Dijon mustard is filthy.
